Effect of Acupuncture and Massage on Functional Score and Quality of Life in Patients with Cervical Radiculopathy
Objective To investigate the effects of acupuncture and massage on functional scores and quality of life in patients with cervical radiculopathy.Methods 100 patients with cervical radiculopathy treated in our hospital from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected as research objects,and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to alternate grouping method,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was given acupuncture and moxibustion treatment,and the observation group was given acupuncture and moxibustion combined with massage treatment.The cervical spine function,TCM symptom score and quality of life of the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the Neck Disability Index and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association score of Cervical spondylosis in both groups were lower than before treatment,the observation group was lower than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the scores of neck pain,neck stiffness and numbness and upper limb heaviness in both groups were lower than before treatment,and the observation group was lower than the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05);the scores of physical function,social function,psychological function and material life status in the Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 of the observation group were higher than those before treatment,the observation group was higher than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with massage therapy has a significant effect on improving cervical vertebra function,reducing TCM syndrome score and improving the quality of life of patients with cervical radiculopathy.
