Effect of Neck Acupuncture Combined with Rehabilitation Training on Swallowing Function in Patients with Dysphagia after Stroke
Objective To investigate the effect of neck acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training on swallowing function in patients with dysphagia after stroke. Methods 176 patients with dysphagia after stroke admitted to our hospital from June 2020 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 88 cases in each group. The control group received rehabilitation training intervention, and the observation group was combined with neck acupuncture intervention on the basis of the control group.Swallowing function, quality of life and movement parameters of pharyngeal lateral wall were compared between the two groups. Results Before intervention, the Functional Oral Intake Scale(FOIS),Swallowing Specific Quality of Life Scale(SWAL-QQL),Standardized Swallowing Assessment(SSA)scores, and pharyngeal lateral wall movement parameters, and there were no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05);after the intervention, the FOIS and SWAL-QQL scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the amplitude of lateral pharyngeal wall movement was greater than that in the control group, the movement speed was faster than that in the control group, the SSA score was lower than that in the control group, and the exercise time was shorter than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with rehabilitation training alone, neck acupuncture intervention in patients with swallowing disorder after stroke can improve the overall effect, improve the swallowing function of patients, enhance the movement ability of pharyngeal side wall, and improve the quality of life of patients, which is worthy of popularization and application
