Application Effect of Wuren Decoction in Postoperative Rehabilitation of Inguinal Hernia
Objective To investigate the application effect of Wuren decoction in postoperative rehabilitation of inguinal.Methods 98 patients who underwent inguinal hernia surgery at the General Surgery Department of Wuxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into a conventional group(n=49)and a Wuren decoction group(n=49)using a random number table method.The conventional group patients were treated according to the conventional concept of rapid recovery,while the Wuren decoction group received oral treatment with Wuren decoction on the basis of the control group.The recovery time of intestinal sounds,the first time of exhaust and defecation,the incidence of abdominal distension and complications,and the serum gastrin levels at 24 and 48 h after surgery between two groups of patients were compared.Results The recovery time of intestinal sounds in the Wuren decoction group was(20.37±4.79)d,the first exhaust time was(24.25±6.16)d,and the defecation time was(31.33±11.01)d,were all shorter than(25.68±7.32)d,(30.18±10.14)d,and(37.82±16.65)d in the conventional group,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The incidences of abdominal distension and constipation in the Wuren decoction group were 12.24%and 6.12%,were lower than 30.61%and 20.41%in the conventional group,with statistical significances(P＜0.05).The serum gastrin levels in the Wuren decoction group at 24 and 48 hours after surgery were(78.59±12.36)pg/mL and(100.45±18.51)pg/mL,were higher than(70.54±13.44)pg/mL and(81.26±16.32)pg/mL,in the control group with statistical significances(P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of Wuren decoction after inguinal hernia repair surgery can improve the patient's gastrointestinal function,promote early defecation,reduce constipation,and help with early postoperative recovery.
