Effect of Selecting Acupoints Along the Meridian Extracorporeal Shock Wave Combined with Acupuncture and Moxibustion on Lumbar Function and Pain in Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To explore the effect of selecting acupoints along the meridian extracorporeal shock wave(ESW)combined with acupuncture on patients with Lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods A total of 92 patients with LDH admitted to the hospital from November 2021 to May 2023 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group according to the random number table method, with 46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine treatment. On the basis of the control group, the observation group was treated with selecting acupoints along the meridian ESW combined with acupuncture and moxibustion. The clinical efficacy, lumbar function and pain were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in lumbar spine function between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the Oswestry Dysfunction Index(ODI)and Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)scores of the two groups improved compared to before treatment, and the ODI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, while the JOA score was higher than that of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in pain scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)of pain in both groups was lower than before treatment, and the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Selecting acupoints along the meridian ESW combined with acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of LDH can effectively enhance the curative effect, improve the lumbar function of patients, and reduce the pain of patients.
