Efficacy of Non Convulsive Electroconvulsive Therapy Combined with Quetiapine in the Treatment of Bipolar Disorder Manic Episodes and Its Impact on Manic Symptoms and Cognitive Function in Patients
Objective To investigate the efficacy of non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy combined with quetiapine in the treatment of manic episodes in bipolar disorder(BPD),and its impact on manic symptoms and cognitive function in patients.Methods Selecting 60 BPD patients admitted to Qingdao Central Hospital Affiliated to Qingdao University from January 2021 to June 2023 as the research subjects,divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.Both groups of patients received routine treatment support.The control group received treatment with quetiapine fumarate tablets,while the observation group received treatment with quetiapine fumarate tablets and non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy.Compare the clinical efficacy,manic symptoms,and cognitive function between two groups of patients.Results After treatment,showed that the total effective rate,Wisconsin Card Sorting Test score,curricular practical training score,and Hopkins verbal learning test score in the observation group were higher than those in the control group;The score of the Bech-Rafaelsen Mania Rating Scal was lower than that of the control group,the difference between groups is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of non convulsive electroconvulsive therapy and quetiapine in the treatment of BPD patients can help alleviate manic symptoms,can improve cognitive ability and clinical efficacy.
