Clinical Effect of Massage Manipulation Combined with Shockwave Therapy in the Treatment of Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of massage manipulation combined with shockwave therapy in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Methods 62 patients with lumbar disc herniation admitted to Yangzhou Friendship Hospital from October 2019 to October 2022 were selected as the study objects randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 31 patients in each group. The control group was treated with massage manipulation, and the observation group was treated with shockwave therapy on this basis. The pain degree, improvement of lumbago symptoms, lumbar joint motion and lumbar function were compared between the two groups. Results After 3 weeks of treatment, the pain Visual Analogue Score of the observation group was(2.86±1.19)points,which was lower than(4.41±1.25)points of the control group, and the treatment score evaluated by the Japanese Orthopaedic Association was(25.03±3.42)points,which was higher than(21.38±3.72)points of the control group, the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3 weeks of treatment, the lumbar anterior flexion, posterior extension, left curvature and right curvature of the observation group were greater than those of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3 weeks of treatment, the scores of progression, metastasis, sphincter control and self-care activities in the functional independence measure in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of massage manipulation and shockwave therapy in patients with lumbar disc herniation can significantly reduce the degree of lumbar pain and improve the function of lumbar spine.
