Effect of Somatosensory Game Intervention Combined with Image Exchange Communication System Training on Communication Ability and Life Skills in Children with Autism
Objective To explore the effects of somatosensory game intervention combined with image exchange comm-unication system training on communication ability and life skills in children with autism. Methods 86 children with autism who visited the Children's Health Department of Weihai Maternal and Child Health Hospital from September 2020 to June 2023 were divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group received routine rehabilitation training, while the observation group received somatosensory game intervation combined with image exchange communication system training based on this.Compare autism behavior, communication ability, and life skills between the two groups. Results After intervention, both groups had lower scores on the Autism Behavior Checklist than before intervention, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After the intervention, the scores of the Social Communication Questionnaire in both groups were higher than before the intervention, and the observation group was higher than the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After intervention, the Modified Barthel Index score in both groups was higher than before intervention, and the observation group was higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of somatosensory game intervention and image exchange communication system training is beneficial for promoting the improvement of autism behavior, communication ability, and life skills in children with autism.
