Effects of Electromyographic Biofeedback Combined with Otago Exercise Training on Neurological and Motor Function in Patients with Hemiplegia after Cerebral Infarction
Objective To explore the effects of electromyographic biofeedback combined with Otago exercise training on the neurological and motor functions of patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction. Methods 70 patients with post-stroke hemiplegia admitted to Tianjin Third Central Hospital from April 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 35 cases in each group, using a random number table method. The control group received Otago exercise training, while the observation group received elec-tromyographic biofeedback treatment on the basis of the control group.Compare the daily living ability, neurological function, motor function, and balance function between two groups of patients. Results After treatment, the observation group had a lower National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score than the control group, while the Berg Balance Scale score,Fugl Meyer Exercise Scale upper and lower limb scores, and Barthel Index were higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences between the groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of electromyographic biofeedback and Otago exercise training can help restore neurological function, improve balance and motor abilities, and improve daily living abilities in pa-tients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction.
