Clinical Effect of Mirror Therapy Combined with Otago Exercise Training for Elderly Cerebral Infarction with Hemiplegia
Objective To explore the clinical effect of mirror therapy combined with Otago exercise training for elderly cerebral infarction with hemiplegia. Methods 60 elderly patients with cerebral infarction with hemiplegia admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to September 2023 were divided into 30 cases in control group and 30 cases in observation group according to random number table. Both groups were given routine guidance, the control group gave patients Otago exercise training on the basis of routine intervention, and the observation group gave patients Otago exercise training and mirror therapy. The treatment effects, motor ability, neurological function, daily living ability and balance ability were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67%,higher than 73.33%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the upper and lower limb scores on the Fugl-Meyer Exercise Scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the observation group had lower scores on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale than the control group, while the Barthel Index score and Berg Balance Scale score were higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences between the groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of mirror therapy combined with Otago exercise training on elderly cerebral infarction with hemiplegia is exact, which is conducive to the improvement of patients'motor ability, neurological function, balance ability and daily life ability, which is worth promoting.
