Short-Term Effect of Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy Combined with Methylprednisolone in Acute Vestibular Neuritis
Objective To investigate the effect of vestibular rehabilitation combined with methylprednisolone in patients with acute vestibular neuritis. Methods 66 patients with acute vestibular neuritis admitted to Sishui County People's Hospital,Jining City,Shandong Province from November 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the research subjects and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 33 cases in each group. The control group was treated with methylprednisolone, and the observation group was treated with vestibular rehabilitation on this basis. Both groups were treated for 1 week. The vestibular function, vertigo degree and ability of daily living were compared between the two groups. Results Afte r treatment, the scores of Vestibular Symptom Index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the Dizziness Handicap Inventory score in the observation group was(47.63±6.32)points,lower than(56.75±8.21)points in the control group, and the Activities of Daily Living score was(82.94±7.14)points,higher than(74.84±6.53)points in the control group, the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of vestibular rehabilitation therapy and methylprednisolone in patients with acute vestibular neuritis can significantly improve the vestibular dysfunction and the degree of vertigo, and improve the ability of daily living.
