Effect of Nursing Workshop on Postoperative Self-Esteem and Self-Care Ability of Patients Undergoing Colostomy for Colorectal Cancer
Objective To investigate the effect of nursing workshop on postoperative self-esteem and self-care ability of patients undergoing colostomy for colorectal cancer.Methods 70 patients undergoing colostomy for colorectal cancer admitted to Shanghai Guanghua Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from April to September 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into a control group(n=35)and an observation group(n=35)by random envelope method.The control group received health education by conventional methods,and the observation group received health education in the form of nursing workshop.The self-esteem level,self-care ability and complications were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention,the scores of behavioral self-esteem,social self-esteem and appearance self-esteem of the state self-esteem scale in the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The stoma self-care scale-general version score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 0.00%,lower than 11.43%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing workshop can improve postoperative self-esteem and self-care ability of patients undergoing colostomy for colorectal cancer,and reduce complications.
