Effect of Yiqi Wenfei Decoction Acupoint Application Combined with Conventional Western Medicine Treatment on Symptom Improvement and Lung Function in Elderly Patients with Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective To investigate the effect of Yiqi Wenfei decoction acupoint application combined with conventional western medicine treatment on symptom improvement and lung function in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chrohic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods 76 elderly patients with acute exacerbation of COPD treated in Nayong County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the research objects,and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method,with 38 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional Western medicine,and the observation group was combined with Yiqi Wenfei decoction acupoint application on the basis of the control group.The TCM syndrome score,lung function and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results After 7 days of treatment,the scores of cough,expectoration,shortness of breath,chest tightness and pulmonary rales in observation group were lower than those in control group,and the differences between groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The observation group had higher forced vital capacity,forced expiratory volume in the first second,and FEV1/FVC levels than the control group,and the differences between groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 94.74%,higher than that of the control group(76.32%),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Yiqi Wenfei decoction acupoint application combined with conventional Western medicine in the treatment of elderly patients with acute exacerbation of COPD has a definite effect,can alleviate the symptoms of patients and improve their lung function.
