Effect of Multidisciplinary Nutrition Management Throughout the Entire Disease Course Combined with Moderate Intensity Walking Exercise on the Nutritional Status and Cancer-Related Fatigue of Esophageal Cancer Radiotherapy Patients
Objective Exploring the effects of multidisciplinary nutrition management throughout the entire disease course combined with moderate intensity walking exercise on the nutritional status and cancer-related fatigue of esophageal cancer radiotherapy patients. Methods A total of 100 patients treated with radiotherapy for esophageal cancer in this hospital from November 2022 to November 2023 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received maltidisciplinary nutrition management throughout the entire disease course combined with moderate intensity walking exercise. The nutritional status and the degree of cancer-related fatigue were compared between the two groups. Results After 4 weeks of intervention, the serum total protein, albumin and prealbumin levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of all dimensions of the Fatigue Scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of multidisciplinary nutrition management throughout the entire disease course and moderate intensity walking exercise can improve the nutritional status of esophageal cancer radiotherapy patients and reduce cancer-related fatigue.
