Comparative Analysis of Flexible Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy for Upper Ureteral Calculi
Objective To compare the effects of flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy(FURL)and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)on patients with upper ureteral calculi.Methods 84 patients with upper ureteral calculi treated in Qing County People's Hospital from July 2021 to July 2023 were selected as the research objects and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method,with 42 cases in each group.The control group received ESWL and the observation group received FURL.The calculus clearance rate,stress response,inflammation response,renal function and complications were compared between the two groups.Results The calculus clearance rate of observation group was 95.24%,higher than 80.95%of control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation,the levels of procalcitonin and C-reactive protein in the observation group were(0.56±0.16)ng/mL and(7.61±1.01)mg/L,respectively,which were lower than(0.79±0.24)ng/mL and(10.53±1.46)mg/L in the control group,the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation,the levels of blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine in the observation group were(7.15±1.03)mmol/L and(71.21±5.15)μmol/L,respectively,which were lower than(8.96±1.56)mmol/L and(85.76±5.92)μmol/L in the control group,the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before and after surgery,there were no significant differences in the levels of stress response indexes between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 4.76%,lower than 21.43%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with ESWL,FURL can improve the calculus clearance rate,cause less inflammatory reaction,and cause less renal damage and complications in patients with upper ureteral calculi.FURL has certain application value and can be widely used in clinic.
