Effect of Transurethral Holmium Laser Enucleation of Prostate on Urodynamic Parameters and Quality of Life in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Objective To analyze the effect of transurethral holmium laser enucleation of prostate(HoLEP)on patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods 80 patients with BPH admitted to Dongying People's Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the research objects and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received transurethral resection of prostate(TURP)treatment, and the observation group received HoLEP treatment. The perioperative indexes, symptom severity, urodynamic parameters, quality of life and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The intraoperative blood loss in the observation group was(38.62±2.59)mL,less than(62.26±5.37)mL in the control group, the operation time was(91.58±7.15)min,longer than(74.63±5.39)min in the control group, and the hospital stay was(6.35±1.25)d,shorter than(8.21±1.69)d in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation, the international prostate symptom score in the observation group was(8.43±1.21)points,which was lower than(11.35±1.59)points in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation, the maximum urine flow rate in the observation group was(24.57±3.46)mL/s,which was faster than(20.49±2.38)mL/s in the control group, and the post-void residual urine volume was(20.34±1.96)mL,which was less than(25.60±2.59)mL in the control group, the bladder compliance was(26.38±4.27)mL/cmH2O,which was higher than(20.49±3.18)mL/cmH2O in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation, the scores of social function, psychological function, physical function and material life of the Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 in the observation group were(78.93±4.65)points,(79.96±4.15)points,(80.49±4.34)points,(82.34±4.49)points,respectively,which were higher than(70.59±4.21)points,(69.83±3.26)points,(71.36±3.63)points,(73.85±3.52)points in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 5.00%,which was lower than 20.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion HoLEP has the advantages of less trauma and quick recovery, which can effectively reduce the symptoms of BPH patients, improve their urodynamics, improve their quality of life, and have fewer complications, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
