Effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen Combined with Butylphthalein on Neurological Function and Cognitive Function in Elderly Patients with Vascular Dementia after Cerebral Infarction
Objective To investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen combined with butylphthalide on neurological function and cognitive function in elderly patients with vascular dementia after cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 82 elderly patients with vascular dementia after cerebral infarction admitted to the hospital from March 2020 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with butylphthalein, and the observation group was treated with hyperbaric oxygen combined with butylphthalein.Neurological function, cognitive function, memory ability and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the score of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the score of the Mini Mental state Examination Scale was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The scores of all dimensions of Clinical Memory Scale were higher than those of control group, and the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen combined with butylphthalein can improve the neurological function and cognitive function of elderly patients with vascular dementia after cerebral infarction, enhance their memory, and has good safety.
