Progress of Research on the Treatment of Osteoarthritis of the Knee by Massage Combined with Other External Treatments of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is a joint disease with a high incidence in middle-aged and elderly people,which usually leads to pain,impaired function.Massage is one of the main non-surgical therapies for KOA guided by traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)meridian science.Massage can regulate muscle activation patterns,repair ligament function,improve mechanical balance of the knee joint,improve inflammation status,and alleviate joint pain,which is a good therapeutic effect for KOA.In recent years,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has achieved good therapeutic effects in the treatment of KOA,especially the external treatment of TCM,which has the advantages of low adverse effects and high compliance.Massage manipulation combined with other external Chinese medicine therapies is widely used in clinical practice,and this study reviews the overview of Massage combined with other external Chinese medicine therapies in the treatment of KOA.
