Effectiveness and Safety Analysis of Acupuncture and Cupping Therapy Combined with Pregabalin in the Treatment of Postherpetic Neuralgia
Objective Exploring the clinical effect of acupuncture and cupping therapy combined with pregabalin in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia(PHN).Methods A total of 72 PHN patients admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects, divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was treated with pregabalin, while the observation group was treated with acupuncture and cupping therapy combined with pregabalin, both groups continued to receive treatment for 14 days.Compare the clinical efficacy, pain degree, sleep quality, inflammatory cytokine levels, pain mediator levels, and adverse reactions between two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the pain Visual Analogue Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group. The levels of interleukin-1,tumor necrosis factor-α,and interleukin-6 were all lower than those of the control group. The levels of substance P,prostaglandin E2,and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 were also lower than those of the control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparison of incidence rates of adverse reactions between two groups, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The acupuncture and cupping therapy combined with pregabalin can improve the therapeutic effect of PHN,accelerate the resolution of local inflammation, reduce the release of pain inducing factors, and lower the degree of pain.It can also reduce the impact of the disease on the patient's sleep quality, and there are no serious adverse reactions.
