Effect of Three-Step Abdominal Massage Therapy Combined with Acupoint Application on Anorectal Dynamics and Defecation Function in Patients with Hip Fracture and Bedridden Constipation
Objective To explore the specific effects of three-step abdominal massage therapy combined with acupoint application on bedridden constipation patients with hip fracture(HF).Methods A total of 84 patients with bedridden constipation caused by HF admitted to Feicheng Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2023 to October 2023 were selected as the research subjects, divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing intervention, while the observation group received three-step abdominal massage therapy and acupoint application.Compare the improvement of constipation, anal motility, defecation function, and quality of life between two groups. Results After nursing care, the Wexner score and rectal anal pressure gradient in the observation group were higher than those in the control group. The initial rectal sensation threshold, rectal defecation sensation threshold, and the Chinese version of the Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life Questionnaire score were all lower than those in the control group, the observation group had shorter first bowel movement, interval between two bowel movements, and duration of each bowel movement compared to the control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of three-step abdominal massage therapy and acupoint application is effective in patients with bedridden constipation in HF,improving constipation symptoms and anal motility, promoting bowel function recovery, and improving quality of life.
