Observation of the Effect of Modified Parks Incision Microscopy on Tear Film Function Indicators and Incidence of Complications in Patients with Horizontal Concomitant Strabismus
Objective Exploring the application effect of modified Parks incision microscopy in patients with horizontal concomitant strabismus. Methods Seventy-eight patients with horizontal concomitant strabismus admitted to Ju County People's Hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the reseach subjects, divide them into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 39 cases in each group. The control group underwent corneal edge trapezoidal conjunctival flap incision treatment, while the observation group underwent modified Parks incision microscopy treatment.Compare the corrective effects, surgical conditions, tear film function, quality of life, and complications between two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with surgery time and hospital stay of(22.36±2.15)min and(4.65±0.85)d,respectively,which were shorter than the control group's(34.58±3.41)min and(5.89±1.16)d.The bleeding volume was(8.62±1.12)mL,which was lower than the control group's(11.87±1.35)mL,the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);the observation group's break-up time and schirmer I test distance were(10.54±1.12)s and(10.25±1.11)mm/5 min, respectively, which were longer than the control group's(8.25±1.04)s and(8.61±1.08)mm/5 min.The Corneal Fluorescein Stain score was(5.12±1.02)points,which was lower than the control group's(6.57±1.05)points,the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);the postoperative World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF scores in various fields of the observation group were(88.74±5.25)points,(86.87±5.34)points,(90.52±4.29)points,and(91.35±4.22)points,which were higher than the control group's(81.63±5.22)points,(80.14±5.29)points,(83.21±5.25)points,and(83.96±5.32)points,respectively.The incidence of complications was lower than that of the control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The modified Parks incision microscopy has a better therapeutic effect on horizontal concomitant strabismus, which can reduce tear film function damage, reduce intraoperative bleeding, lower the risk of complications, and better improve postoperative quality of life.
