Effect of Low-Frequency Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Combined with Cognitive Rehabilitation Training in Patients with Epilepsy
Objective To explore the effects of low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with cognitive rehabilitation training in patients with epilepsy. Methods A total of 70 epilepsy patients admitted to our hospital from April 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the research subjects, they were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 35 cases in each group. The control group received cognitive rehabilitation training, and the observation group combined with low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on the basis of the control group, both groups were treated for 1 month. The oxidative stress parameters, seizure frequency, quality of life, and cognitive function were compared between the two groups. Results The frequency of epilepsy occurrence in the observation group was(1.02±0.08)times/month,which was lower than(1.86±0.14)times/month in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of Mini-Mental State Eexamination Scale was(22.49±2.11)points and the scores of Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale was(22.15±1.32)points in the observation group were higher than(19.44±1.17)points and(18.07±1.13)points in the control group, the difference were statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, the nitric oxide and malondialdehyde in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the total antioxidant capacity was higher than that in the control group, the difference were statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of all dimensions of quality of life in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation combined with cognitive rehabilitation training in the treatment of epilepsy, which can effectively improve seizures, enhance cognitive function and quality of life, and improve oxidative stress response.
