Effects of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Combined with Mulligan Dynamic Joint Loosening on Pain Degree and Joint Range of Motion in Patients with Scapulohumeral Periarthritis
Objective To observe the effects of extracorporeal shock wave combined with Mulligan dynamic joint loosening on pain degree and joint range of motion in patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis. Methods A total of 40 patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis admitted to Beijing Yanhua Hospital from December 2021 to December 2022 were randomly divided into a control group and a research group, with 20 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with conventional rehabilitation therapy,on this basis, the control group was treated with Mulligan dynamic joint loosening, and the research group was treated with Mulligan dynamic joint loosening combined with extracorporeal shock wave therapy. The joint range of motion, pain degree and ability of daily living were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the motion ranges of shoulder flexion, extension, abduction upward lift, external rotation and internal rotation in the research group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the Visual Analogue Scale score of the research group was(1.77±0.48)points,lower than(3.46±1.05)points of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the fifth grade score of the research group was(88.15±8.43)points,higher than(76.77±8.16)points of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Extracorporeal shock wave combined with Mulligan dynamic joint loosening is effective in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis, which can reduce pain, improve joint range of motion and enhance daily living ability of patients, and is worthy of clinical application.
