Comparison of the Effects of TAPP and Lichtenstein Repair in Patients with Inguinal Hernia
Objective To compare the effects of transabdominal anterior peritoneal hernia repair(TAPP)and Lichtenstein repair on patients with inguinal hernia. Methods A total of 100 patients with inguinal hernia admitted to Xinjiang 474 Hospital from January 2021 to November 2023 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group underwent Lichtenstein repair surgery treatment, while the observation group underwent TAPP treatment. The surgical related indicators, postoperative pain level, stress response and complications of two groups were compared. Results The intraoperative blood loss of the observation group was(14.25±2.18)mL,which was less than(20.31±2.69)mL of the control group, the operation time was(48.72±3.59)min,hospitalization time was(4.30±0.56)d,which were shorter than(70.69±5.31)min and(6.31±1.42)d of the control group, and the incidence of complications was 4.00%,which was lower than 16.00%of the control group, the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The first, third day of postoperative, the pain Visual Analog Scale score of the observation group were(2.38±0.41)points and(1.56±0.22)points,respectively,which were lower than(3.21±0.59)points and(2.29±0.34)points,the differencesbetween the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 1 day of surgery, the cortisol level(176.38±16.52)nmol/L and norepinephrine level(296.45±29.12)pmol/L in the observation group were lower than(198.92±20.31)nmol/L and(318.77±32.45)pmol/L in the control group, the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with Lichtenstein repair,TAPP has smaller trauma, fewer complications, and causes lighter stress reactions. It can effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative pain level in patients with inguinal hernia, and has certain application value, which is worth clinical reference.
