Effect of Vestibular Rehabilitation Training on Balance Rehabilitation in Patients with Peripheral Vertigo
Objective To investigate the effect of vestibular rehabilitation training in patients with peripheral vertigo. Methods A total of 98 patients with peripheral vertigo treated in Sha Tian Hospital of Dongguan City from May 2019 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group by random number table method. The control group(n=49)received conventional drug treatment, and the observation group(n=49)received vestibular rehabilitation training on the basis of conventional drug treatment, both groups received continuous treatment for 2 months. The clinical efficacy, vestibular function, balance function and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences in vestibular function, balance function and quality of life between two groups(P>0.05).After 2 months of treatment, the Vestibular Symptom Index score of observation group was lower than that of control group, and the Berg Balance Scale score was higher than that of control group, the difference between groups was statistically significant(P<0.05);the physical, functional, emotional scores and total scores of the Dizziness Handicap Inventory in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.92%,which was higher than 83.67%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Vestibular rehabilitation training can improve the therapeutic effect of patients with peripheral vertigo, effectively improve the vestibular function, enhance the balance function, and promote the quality of life.
