Effect of Rehabilitation Exercise Diary Combined with Enhanced Walking Training on Spinal Cord Independent Function and Walking Ability in Patients with Spinal Cord Injury and Paraplegia
Objective To investigate the effect of rehabilitation exercise diary combined with enhanced walking training on spinal cord independent function and walking ability in patients with spinal cord injury(SCI)and paraplegia. Methods Seventy-six SCI patients with paraplegia admitted to Ruikang Hospital affiliated with Guangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2021 to September 2023 were selected as the research subjects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 38 cases in each group. The control group received enhanced walking training intervention, while the observation group received rehabilitation exercise diary combined with enhanced walking training intervention. Both groups received continuous intervention for 8 weeks.Compare the spinal cord independent function, walking ability, and daily living activity ability between two groups. Results After 8 weeks of intervention, the Functional Independence Measure score of the observation group was evaluated the Barthel Index Rating Scale scored higher than the control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);after intervention for 2,4,and 8 weeks, the observation group had a 6-minute walking distance longer than the control group, and a 10 meter walking time shorter than the control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of rehabilitation exercise diary and enhanced walking training has a significant effect on SCI patients with paraplegia, which helps to restore independent spinal cord function and walking ability, thereby improving daily living activities.
