Objective To analyze the effect of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with Chinese medicine plaster therapy on patients with Cold-Dampness Type lumbar disc herniation.Methods Seventy patients with Cold-Dampness Type lumbar disc herniation treated in Nantong Tongzhou District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from August 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects,and were divided into a control group and a research group by random drawing method,with 35 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional treatment,and the research group was treated with Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with Chinese medicine plaster therapy,both groups were treated for 20 days.Lumbar spine function,pain degree,life ability and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results Before treatment,there were no significant differences in the scores of the lumbar spine Japanese Orthopaedic Association Scores(JOA),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),Activities of Daily Living Scale(ADL)and the 36-item Short-Form health survey(SF-36)between the two groups(P＞0.05).After 20 days of treatment,the JOA and SF-36 scores of the research group were higher than those of the control group,and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);the VAS score of the research group was(2.42±0.57)points,which was lower than(3.97±0.79)points of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the ADL score of the research group was(79.17±6.55)points,which was higher than(69.85±6.57)points of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination treatment of Duhuo Jisheng Decoction and Chinese medicine plaster therapy can reduce the degree of pain,enhance the function of lumbar spine,improve the quality of life,and lay a good foundation for the recovery of the ability of daily living in patients with cold-dampness type lumbar disc herniation.
