Effects of Idebenquinone Combined with Levetiracetam on Cognitive Function and Electroencephalogram Function in Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment Associated with Epilepsy
Objective To explore the effects of edbenquinone combined with levetiracetam on cognitive function and EEG in patients with epilepsy(EP)and mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods Eighty-four patients with EP combined with MCI admitted to Juxian People's Hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into a control group and an experimental group according to random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with levetiracetam, and the experimental group was treated with idebenquinone based on the control group. The clinical efficacy, cognitive function, electroencephalogram function and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 95.24%,which was higher than 73.81%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of all dimensions and total scores of Montreal Cognitive Assessment in experimental group were higher than those in control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);the latency period of P300 in experimental group was shorter than that in the control group, and the amplitude of P300 was longer than that in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of EP patients with MCI,the combination of edbenquinone and levetiracetam can achieve significant effects, which is beneficial to improve the cognitive function of patients and improve their EEG function, and is relatively safe.
