Effect of Diversified Health Education Combined with Family Participatory Oral and Pharyngeal Exercise Training on the Self Perceived Burden and Swallowing Function of Patients with Post-Stroke Dysphagia
Objective To explore the effects of diversified health education combined with family participatory oral and pharyngeal exercise training on the self perceived burden and swallowing function of patients with post-stroke dysphagia(PSD).Methods A total of 200 PSD patients who visited Taixing People's Hospital from December 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 100 patients in each group, using a random number table method. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received diversified health education combined with family participation oral and pharyngeal exercises training on the basis of the control group.Compare the self perceived burden, swallowing function, nutritional indicators and quality of life, between two groups. Results After intervention, the physical burden score(10.54±2.77)points,emotional burden score(10.43±2.25)points,economic burden score(1.28±0.24)points of the Self-perceived Burden Scale, and Water Swallow Test score(2.73±0.40)points in the observation group, which were lower than those in the control group, while the serum albumin level(44.63±3.97)g/L and serum prealbumin level(257.92±30.15)g/L were higher than those in the control group, the Swallowing Quality of Life Scale score(179.51±15.35)points was higher than that of the control group, and the difference between the groups were statistical differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of diversified health education combined with family participation oral and pharyngeal exercises training for PSD patients can help alleviate their self perceived burden, improve swallowing function and nutritional status, and improve their quality of life.
