Effects of Nursing Intervention Based on PERMA Model on Social Behavior, Depressive Status and Daily Living Ability of Patients with Depression
Objective To explore the effect of nursing interventions based on PERMA model on the improvement of social function, depressive state and daily living ability of depressed patients. Methods A total of 110 patients with depression admitted to our hospital from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into a conventional group and a PERMA group using a random number table method, with 55 patients in each group. The conventional group received routine nursing, while the PERMA group received nursing interventions based on the PERMA model. The texas social behavior inventory (TSBI), personal evaluation inventory (PEI), self rating depression scale (SDS), activities of daily living (ADL) and attribution style questionnaire (ASQ) scores between the two groups before and one month after intervention were compared. Results After one month of intervention, the TSBI and PEI scores of both groups increased compared to before intervention, and the PERMA group had higher TSBI and PEI scores than the conventional group, the differences were statistical significant (P<0.05).After one month of intervention, the SDS and ADL scores of both groups improved compared to before intervention, and the SDS score of the PERMA group was lower than that of the conventional group, while the ADL score was higher than that of the conventional group, the differences were statistical significant (P<0.05).After one month of intervention, the ASQ scores of both groups improved compared to before intervention, and the positive event attribution score of the PERMA group was higher than that of the conventional group, while the negative event attribution score was lower than that of the conventional group, the differences were statistical significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention based on PERMA model can not only alleviate the negative emotions of patients with depression, improve their social skills and self-confidence, but also improve their self-care ability in daily life.
