Effect of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Combined with Ear Point Embedding Beans on Patients with Chronic Osteomyelitis
Objective To analyze the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with ear point embedding beans in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis.Methods A total of 84 patients with chronic osteomyelitis admitted to Yantai Harbor Hospital from December 2019 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method,with 42 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine,and the observation group was treated with acupuncture and moxibustion combined with ear point embedding beans on this basis.The clinical efficacy,pain degree,inflammatory factor levels,psychological state and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.24%,which was higher than 78.57%of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the pain Visual Analogue Scale score of the observation group was(1.21±0.39)points,which was lower than(1.88±0.63)points of the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of C-reactive protein,interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α in the observation group were(6.32±1.18)mg/L,(89.83±8.52)pg/mL and(30.25±3.38)pg/mL,respectively,which were lower than(10.24±1.59)mg/L,(124.96±12.75)pg/mL and(46.31±5.28)pg/mL in the control group,the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of Self-rating Anxiety Scale and Self-rating Depression Scale in the observation group were(30.36±2.27)points and(40.31±2.97)points,respectively,which were lower than(44.21±2.87)points and(48.26±4.39)points in the control group,the differences between th e two groups were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with ear point embedding beans can relieve pain of chronic osteomyelitis patients,reduce their inflammation and improve their mental state without serious adverse reactions.
