Application Effect of Plantar Reflexology in Exercise-Induced Psoas Muscle Strain
Objective To analyze the application effect of plantar reflexology in exercise-induced psoas muscle strain patients. Methods A total of 86 patients with exercise-induced psoas muscle strain admitted to Gugrao County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional treatment combined with local massage intervention, and the observation group was treated with plantar reflexology intervention on this basis of the control group. The lumbar function, joint motion, pain and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the Oswestry Disability Index of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association treatment score was higher than that of the control group, the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the lumbar posterior extension and anterior flexion in the observation group were greater than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the Present Pain Intensity and Visual Analogue Scale scores of the observation group were(1.48±0.10)points and(3.38±0.35)points,respectively,which were lower than(1.96±0.17)points and(4.53±0.67)points of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores and total score of the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale-Brief From Questionnoire in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of plantar reflexology in exercise-induced psoas muscle strain patients can significantly improve their lumbar function and joint motion, and reduce pain, which is worthy of clinical application.
