Effect of Xuefu Zhuyu Capsules Combined with Pregabalin Capsules on Pain and Serum Inflammatory Cytokine Levels in Patients with Postherpetic Neuralgia
Objective To investigate the efficacy of Xuefu Zhuyu capsules combined with Pregabalin capsules in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). Methods A total of 75 patients with postherpetic neuralgia admitted to Wulian County People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were selected as the research subjects,they were randomly divided into a control group (n=37) and an observation group (n=38) using a random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional Pregabalin capsules,while the observation group was treated with Xuefu Zhuyu capsules on the basis of the control group. Compare the clinical efficacy,the pain Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) score,and serum inflammatory cytokine levels between two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). After 1,2 and 3 months of treatment,the VAS scores of both groups were lower than before treatment,and the VAS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,with statistical significance (P>0.05). After 3 months of treatment,the levels of serum substance P (SP),interleukin-6 (IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) in both groups were lower than before treatment,and the average levels of TNF-a,SP,and IL-6 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of Xuefu Zhuyu capsules and Pregabalin capsules has a definite therapeutic effect in the treatment of PHN,which can exert analgesic effects and regulate serum inflammatory factors.
