Effect of Warm Acupuncture Combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupoint Application on Joint Function and Serum Inflammation indicators of Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
Objective To explore the effects of warm acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application on joint function and serum inflammation indicators of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Seventy RA patients admitted to Jinxiang County People's Hospital from June 2021 to October 2023 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional drugs,on this basis, the observation group was treated with warm acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application. Both groups continued treatment for 3 months. The clinical efficacy, serum inflammatory indicators, joint function, quality of life and occurrence of adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 94.29%,which was higher than 77.14% of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of tumor necrosis factor-a,C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,rheumatoid factor and erythrocyte sedimentation rate in the observation group were (103.41±13.24)pg/mL,(11.03±1.24)mg/L,(58.52±4.20)pg/mL,(221.42±13.10)IU/mL,(13.42±1.55)mm/L,respectively,which were lower than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05);the joint function score of the observation group was (1.01±0.20) points, which was lower than that of the control group, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF scale score was (87.41±5.73) points, which was higher than that of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Warm acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint application in the treatment of RA can effectively reduce the inflammatory response of patients, improve the joint function and improve the quality of life, with high safety, and can be popularized in clinical practice.
