Effect of Pelvic Floor Electromyography Stimulation Combined with Myofascial Manipulation Massage on Pelvic Floor Muscle Strength in Postpartum Patients with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
Objective To investigate the effect of pelvic floor electromyography stimulation combined with myofascial manipulation massage on pelvic floor muscle strength in postpartum patients with pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD). Methods Eighty four postpartum patients with PFD admitted to the Fifth People's Hospital of Qinghai Province from September 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group received pelvic floor rehabilitation training combined with pelvic floor electromyography stimulation, and the observation group received myofascial manipulation massage on the basis of the control group. The pelvic floor muscle strength, pelvic floor muscle potential and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in pelvic floor muscle strength between the two groups (P>0.05);after treatment, the pelvic floor muscle strength in the observation group was (3.75±0.61)grades,higher than (2.96±0.42)grades in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in resting state, rapid contraction and endurance contraction muscle potentials (P>0.05);after treatment, the muscle potentials of the observation group were higher than those of the control group at all stages, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in the scores of various dimensions in the MOS 36-item Short From Health Survey (SF-36) (P>0.05);after treatment, the SF-36 scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of pelvic floor electromyography stimulation combined with myofascial manipulation massage in the rehabilitation of postpartum PFD can improve the pelvic floor muscle strength and quality of life of patients, and has the value of popularization.
