Effect of Vacuum Sealing Drainage on Wound Healing and Safety in Patients with Chronic and Refractory Wounds after Open Fracture Surgery
Objective To explore the application effect of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) in patients with chronic and refractory wounds after open fracture surgery. Methods A total of 86 patients with chronic and refractory wounds after open fracture surgery admitted to our hospital from August 2019 to August 2023 were selected as the research subjects, divide them into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group received routine treatment, while the observation group received VSD treatment. Compare the clinical efficacy, complete healing time of the wound, wound healing quality, and safety between two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.02%,which was higher than 76.74% of the control group, the complete healing time of the wound was (9.14±1.48) weeks, which was shorter than the control group's (11.25±2.26) weeks, the wound color, blood vessels, softness, thickness, pain, itching score, and incidence of complications were all lower than those of the control group, the differences between groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Adopting VSD treatment for patients with chronic and refractory wounds after open fracture surgery can shorten the time of wound healing, improve the quality of repair, and can reduce the incidence of complications.
