Clinical Effect of Irbesartan Combined with Amlodipine Besylate in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Primary Hypertension
Objective To investigate the effect of irbesartan combined with amlodipine besylate in the treatment of elderly patients with primary hypertension. Methods One hundred and twenty elderly patients with primary hypertension who received medical treatment in the special care outpatient clinic of Geriatrics Department of Yicheng District People's Hospital from February 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the study objects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with amlodipine besylate, while the observation group was treated with irbesartan on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 10 weeks. The clinical efficacy, quality of life, blood pressure level and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67%,which was higher than 76.67% of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, all dimension scores in 36-item Short-From health survey of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05);the levels of diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Irbesartan combined with amlodipine besylate has a good effect in the treatment of elderly primary hypertension, which can improve the blood pressure level and improve the quality of life of patients, and the incidence of adverse reactions is low, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
