Effect of Muscle Electrical Stimulation Combined with Motor Imagery Training on Neurological Function and Walking Ability of Stroke Patients
Objective To explore the effect of muscle electrical stimulation combined with motor imagery training on their neurological function and walking ability of stroke patients. Methods Seventy stroke patients admitted to the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University from January to September 2023 were selected as the research objects, and were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment, and the observation group received muscle electrical stimulation combined with motor imagery training therapy on the basis of the control group, both groups were treated for 2 months. The neurological function, motor function, walking ability and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the scores of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of the upper and lower limbs in the Fugl-Meyer Motor Function Rating scale were higher than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistical significance(P﹤0.05);the scores of Tinetti Gait Assessment scale and Functional Walking scale in the observation group were(21.84±2.26)points and(4.09±0.42)points,respectively,which were higher than(18.21±3.05)points and(3.58±0.61)points in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05);the scores of all dimensions of Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of stroke patients, the combination of muscle electrical stimulation and motor imagery training can improve their neurological and motor functions, enhance their walking ability and improve their quality of life.
