Objective This study aimed to explore the correlativity between the level of interleukin-18(IL-18) in plasma and the outcomes of the patients with intracerebral hemorrhage. The change of plasma IL-18 and prognosis on patients were analysed statistically. Methods Eighty patients with intracerebral hemorrhage were included in our group. Concentration of IL-18 in plasma was measured with EUSA. Results Plasma IL-18 was highly associated with CCS score, hematoma volume and presence of intraventricular hemorrhage of patients (all P<0.01), identified as a independent risk factor of 1 -year mortality(OR = 1.328, 95% CI = 1.017~ 2.682, P < 0.01) , and predicted 1 -year mortality with the high sensitivity and specificity( P < 0.01). Conclusion Interleukin-18 is obviously correlated with prognosis of intracerebral hemorrhage, and its clinical determination will be helpful for the early to evaluate the mortality of intracerebral hemorrhage.
