Objective To explore the effects of alendronate combined with chemotherapy on bone metabolism in patients with multiple myeloma( MM). Methods Randomized the patients accepted treatment of alendionate combined with chemotherapy were divided into the observe group. Besides, the patients accepted only chemotherapy served as control group. The differences of the bone alkaline phosphotase(BAP) , procollagen Ⅰ N-tenninal propeptide(P Ⅰ NP) , steocalein(OC) , β-crosslaps(β-CTx) .calcium, phosphorus and allralinn phosphatase were compared between the two group. Results After treatment, the concentrations of BAP, P I NP and OC in the observed group presented significantly higher than those in the control group(P <0.05) ; but the concentration of β-CTx in the observed group showed obviously lower than the control group(P<0.05) ; there's no significant difference of bone metabolism befoere and after treatment in the control group (P > 0. 05). Conclusion Alendronate combined with chemotherapy possess good effect for improvement of bone metabolism in patients with MM.
