Objective To explore the clinical significance of measurement the changes on serum CysC, Hey, IL-8 and GA72-4 levels after transfusion RBC in patients with gastric cancer. Methods Serum IL-8, CA72-4(with RIA), serum CysC (with immuno-turbidimetry), serum Hey (with immunochemistry) levels were determined in 33 patients with gastric cancer and compared to 35 normal healthy controls. Results Before transfusion of RBC, serum CysC, Hey, IL-8 and CA72-4 levels presented significantly higher than those in controls(P<0.01), after transfusion for 2 weeks, serum CysC, Hey, IL-8 and CA72-4 levels dropped markedly, but remained evidently higher than those in controls(P<0.05). Serum CysC level indicated positively correlated with serum Hey, IL-8 and CA72-4 1evels(r=0.6142,0.5982,0.6174,P< 0.01). Conclusion The changes of serum CysC, Hey, IL-8 and CA72-4 levels might be helpful to realize pathosis, therapeutic efficacy and prognostication thus, provides certain clinical value.
