Correlation and predictive value of serum AREG levels and CT quantitative parameters with vascular in-vasion and lymph node metastasis in rectal cancer
Objective:To investigate the correlation and predictive value of serum AREG levels and CT quantitative parameters with vascular invasion and lymph node metastasis in rectal cancer. Methods:The clinical and imaging data of 87 patients with rectal cancer in our hospital were retrospec-tively analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups based on the presence of vascular invasion and lymph node metastasis, namely positive(Group A)and negative(Group B)for vascular invasion, and positive(Group C)and negative(Group D)for lymph node metastasis. The serum AREG concen-tration levels and CT quantitative parameters were compared among the groups, and the correlation between these indicators and vascular invasion and lymph node metastasis was analyzed.Results:Path-ological analysis showed that among the 87 patients,32 had positive vascular invasion and 55 had nega-tive vascular invasion;46 had positive lymph node metastasis and 41 had negative lymph node metasta-sis.The results of t-test and logistic regression analysis showed that serum AREG levels, venous phase non-water iodine density and venous phase Eff-Z value were associated with vascular invasion in pa-tients with rectal cancer, while serum AREG levels and venous phase Eff-Z value were associated with lymph node metastasis. The AUC values for predicting vascular invasion in patients using serum AR-EG levels, venous phase non-water iodine density, venous phase Eff-Z value and their combination were 0.772,0.784,0.738 and 0.901,respectively.The AUC values for predicting lymph node metastasis in patients using serum AREG levels, venous phase Eff-Z value and their combination were 0.707,0.709 and 0.716,respectively.Conclusion:Serum AREG levels and CT quantitative parameters,inclu-ding venous phase non-water iodine density and venous phase Eff-Z value, are associated with vascular invasion in rectal cancer, while serum AREG levels and venous phase Eff-Z value are associated with lymph node metastasis.Serum AREG levels and CT quantitative parameters have certain predictive value for vascular invasion and lymph node metastasis in rectal cancer.
