Effects of plant hormones on the lipid and eicosapentaenoic acid production in Nannochloropsis
The effects of six plant hormones on the lipid and EPA production of Nannochloropsis oculata M44 were investigated .Each plant hormone has a beneficial effect on lipid accumulation . When 20 mg/L IBA was added ,the maximum lipid production was achieved with an increase of 20 .94% compared to the control group .The EPA and lipid production were increased by 29 .34%and 20 .34% at a concentration of 15 mg/L BA .Real-time quantitative PCR confirmed that BA and other hormones can significantly increase the transcriptional level of lipid synthesis-related genes in Nannochloropsis oculata M44 .This study confirms that plant hormones can be used to increase the EPA production of Nannochloropsis oculata M44 ,which provides the experimental basis for the production of EPA .
