Simultaneous determination of 15 components in copper smelting slag by wave-length dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry with fusion sample preparation
The matrix of copper smelting slag is complex and contains low valence substances. The key to the melting sample preparation method is to ensure the full melting of the sample and avoid the erosion of the crucible. In this experiment, the copper smelting slag was pre-oxidized with sodium nitrate as oxidant at 700℃,and the pre-oxidation effect was characterized by X-ray diffractometer. The results showed that fayalite and iron and copper sulfides in copper smelting slag were oxidized to CuO,Fe2O3 and SiO2,indicating that it had a good oxidation effect.Further, the Li2B4O7-LiBO2 mixed flux with a mass ratio of 12∶22 was used as base and cover, and lithium bromide was used as the release agent.Homogeneous glass sheets that meet the test requirements were obtained by high-temperature melting. The copper smelting slag sample with chemical process, the certified reference material containing copper, and the artificial mixed sample of the above samples were used as calibration samples to solve the problem of lack of reference materials. The overlap of spectral lines and the absorption enhancement effect between elements were investigated. The X-ray fluorescence spectrometry method for the detection of 15 components containing Cu,Fe,SiO2,Al2O3,S,Mn,CaO,MgO,K2O,Zn,As,Ni,Co,Pb,Sb in copper smelting slag was established. The results showed that the detection limits of the method for various elements were 5.6-246.8 mg/kg,and the relative standard deviations were 0.4%-5.2%.The determination results of copper smelting slag samples were consistent with that of chemical method.
