Determination of total sufur in vinyl chloride carbonate by automatic potentiometric titration
Sulfur dioxide and sulfonyl chloride in the sample were completely converted into sulfate. To determine the total amount of sulfate, the excess barium chloride-magnesium chloride solution was back titrated with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium(EDTA)at a wavelength of 590 nm with acid chrome blue K-naphthol green B as indicator(K-B indicator),and photometric electrode as the indicator.By optimizing the pretreatment conditions and potentiometric titration parameters, the recoveries of total sulfur were 99.3%—100.7%,the average recovery was 99.9%,and the relative standard deviation(RSD)was less than 1%.The method is simple, precise and accurate.
