Design of teaching experiment of chemical oscillation based on spectrophotometric method
The testing method of the"chemical oscillatory reaction"in the physical chemistry experiment was changed from potential method to spectrophotometric method. The ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer with optical fiber probe was used to measure the absorbance curve of[Ce4+]/[Ce3+]with time on the system of potassium bromate—malonic acid—ammonium ceric sulfate—sulfuric acid,in order to calculate the apparent activation energy of this reaction. This experiment is easy and simple to handle with high sensitivity and repeatability, and can realize the quantitative analysis of color oscillation. The experimental method can be extended to other chemical oscillating systems with color changes. The experiment is helpful to cultivate students'data processing and experimental innovation abilities.
