Role of microRNA in pathogenesis and complications of gestational diabetes mellitus
Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)is a growing public health problem worldwide, threatening maternal and newborn health.Through the discovery of its pathophysiological mechanism,it is more targeted in preventing and reducing the occurrence of pregnancy complications. In recent years, microRNA(miRNA),as one of the most common epigenetic mechanisms, have played an important role in the pathophysiology of pregnancy-related diseases, including GDM.The purpose of this review is to analyze the changes of miRNA in pregnant women with GDM,focusing on the potential of miRNA as a biomarker to predict or diagnose GDM and predict the prognosis of the disease, and to help us explore the pathogenesis and prevention measures of GDM.
