Early management protocol (recommendations) for periviable extremely preterm infants
Currently, there are no global guidelines for the treatment of periviable extremely preterm infants (PEPI) born at a gestational age of less than 24 weeks. The survival rate and quality of treatment of PEPI vary greatly among different regions and treatment centers. In order to improve the survival rate and quality of life for PEPI,this paper summarizes the following guidelines based on treatment experiences, observational studies, inference from physiology knowledge, and evidence from studies on more mature preterm infants around the world. It is intended to provide references for various treatment centers in their practices and research.
