Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is one of the common endocrine and metabolic diseases in women of childbearing age.Insulin resistance (IR) is its core pathological mechanism.At present,the etiology and pathogenesis of PCOS-IR are still unclear,and the treatment is poor,which seriously affects the physical and mental health of women of childbearing age,causing widespread attention.Therefore,this article reviews the progress in the etiology,pathogenesis and treatment of PCOS-IR with Chinese and western medicine in order to provide some basis for the pathogenesis and treatment of PCOS-IR.
