Design and Application of a New Nail-type Licker-in Card Clothing
In order to reduce fiber damage and achieve efficient carding,performance require-ments of licker-in card clothing are introduced,the reasons of rapid sharpness damping and high growth rate of short fibers of traditional licker-in card clothing in use are analyzed,measures such as optimization of tooth profile design,corner angle taper treatment,reduction of tooth top area and strengthening of tooth surface are put forward,and a new nail-type licker-in card clothing are developed.The design principle and technical characteristics of the new nail-type licker-in card clothing are described in detail.The yarn quality indexes of machine-picked cot-ton,cellulose fiber and recycled polyester fiber are compared with those of traditional licker-in card clothing.It is pointed out that the new nail-type licker-in card clothing has the advantages of high tooth strength,good wear resistance,long damping period and wide spinning range.Compared with the traditional licker-in card clothing,the new nail-type licker-in card clothing can reduce fiber damage,reduce yarn defects and noil rate,and improve carding quality.
