紫花苜蓿是世界上栽培最早、分布最广,也是最优良、最重要的一种优质豆科牧草,素有"牧草之王',之美称.由于苜蓿在世界畜牧业中的重要性,苜蓿基因工程研究要早于其它牧草.特别是最近几年来,基因工程手段已经被广泛应用于苜蓿的研究中,并取得了一些重要成果.本文综述了在苜蓿遗传转化方法、抗生物胁迫和非生物胁迫、品质改良、生物反应器和共生固氮等基因工程方面的国内外进展,着重阐述了基因工程在提高苜蓿抗性、改良品质和研究共生固氮调控机制方面的作用并就苜蓿基因工程研究今后的发展方向做了展望.
Advances on Genetic Engineering in Alfalfa
Alfalfa (Medicago saliva L.) is a kind of fine legume forage called "the queen of forage" with the longest cultivation history and the widest world-wide distribution.Genetic engineering approaches were widely applied to alfalfa improvement over past few decades.Especially,some significant progresses were achieved in alfalfa improvement by genetic engineering over past years.In this paper,the trends of alfalfa genetic engineering,including methods for alfalfa genetic transformation,tolerance improvement to biotic and abiotic stresses,quality improvement,biological reactor and symbiosis nitrogen fixation,were reviewed.The roles of genetic engineering in enhancing alfalfa stress resistance,improving alfalfa quality and investigating the mechanism of symbiosis nitrogen fixation were emphasized.Under these bases above,the future research trends in this field were prospected.
